The most common of the types though are the regular light bulbs which are called incandescent light bulbs, these are the traditional light bulbs used in almost every house in America, as of today. The other kinds of bulbs like the cfl, and fluorescent bulbs are starting to become more popular as well.

The reason these bulbs are starting to see some popularity, is because of the money that these bulbs can save the consumer. These bulbs save not only on energy costs, but also produce a lot less green house gases then the regular light bulbs do. Regular light bulbs last about 1,000 hours, where as the fluorescent bulbs last about six times that number. The fluorescent light bulbs also produces about ten times its own body weight less green house gases then the regular light bulbs. This is why many people are starting to switch to these bulbs, and use these more often in there home.

Not only are these type of bulbs being used in the house hold, but also you can find them more often in places like hotels, and some office businesses. Although these bulbs save the customer in the long run these bulbs initial cost is a lot more then the regular incandescent bulbs, and this is why not everyone begins to switch to the. Also a lot of people are use to the incandescent bulbs because this is what they have been using for years, and do not feel safe switching just yet.
