Halogen Light Bulbs

Halogen bulbs, are used in various high density locations, like lights for overheads, for teachers in school. The halogen bulbs are much different from that of regular incandescent bulbs, the halogens heat up to extreme temperatures in order to give off light.

Nowadays you can see a lot of different types of lights in the common household. In the early days of light bulb production you only had things like the regular incandescent bulbs, but now you got energy saving bulbs like fluorescent light bulbs. The halogen type bulbs are not really built for indoor use, although some people do use them for different indoor activities, anywhere you need massive light. Halogen light bulbs are built under high pressure, and also high temperature. They are filled with a gas called argon usually, and also, some halogen (the gas could also be things like xenon).

Although these bulbs are very expensive they tend to last a lot longer then bulbs like the regular incandescent bulbs. Many people don’t use these bulbs in there house because of the safety hazards that the light bulbs bring with them, the regular halogen bulbs operate at very high temperatures, and also under extreme pressure. If the bulbs didn’t have this extreme pressure on them then the gases inside the bulbs would not operate right with the xenon, or argon gas, and then would not produce great light. There are certain things you should do to take precaution if you use these lights inside your home.

There are different lists that you could look up on the internet that will list different things you can do to help prevent a safety hazard in your home from the halogen light bulbs. Different things like keeping the bulbs away from any kind of curtains, or anything really because of the extreme heat that the bulbs produce could catch fabric on fire. You should keep light bulbs like this out of reach of children as well, not only because of the extreme heat they can reach, but also because the contents of the bulb are under so much pressure as well.
